Am I the only one who recognizes this as a mistake so serious, it could make the iphone a non-phone within three (3) years?

Flash is proprietary but the Flash player is the only one that works. Microsoft and Apple players are very problematic, unreliable and sometimes impossible to embed.

So I think that Apple is killing the iphone by not allowing Flash. I think they are destroying their brand, the same way Microsoft has with Vista and the anti-Open Source projects. I think this is a product of arrogance -- not innovation. How could anybody NOT know the importance of Flash? Well, come to think of it, Macromedia was guilty of the same crime.
