He belongs in the Peace Corps not a corporation.
In the text of his post he says he wanted to become "a real force for world change". I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but companies exist to make a profit - not to act as an agent for "world change". The company was absolutely right to invite him to resign and he was also quite right to do so.

Now he will be free to join the Peace Corps where his desires will be a better fit.
