It's a survey...
Hi David,

You note that my survey asks about a wide range of scripting languages - but your article headlines AppleScript. Wouldn't it be equally valid to conclude that my survey places Javascript under siege? Or VB-Script? Or Flex? Or ExtendScript? They are all mentioned in the survey, and in equal footing to AppleScript.

In the past, I've also run surveys about C++ and C in all of the Creative Suite Applications. Would those surveys also place C and C++ under siege?

Possibly the fact that I'm asking about scripting in the Creative Suite might indicate that scripting in the Creative Suite is under siege?

All the above conclusions would be false. Frankly, you're reading a bit too much between the lines. I run surveys so that I can understand the marketplace, and form valid opinions. If I WASN'T asking questions, then I would be rightfully deserving of a public flogging.

Next time, give me a call. I'd be happy to buy you a beer and discuss my motivations.

MNR
