I second that!
I am also at a loss as to why you would cancel the hourly backups
while you work. That's what Time Machine is for! By disabling it,
you are not protected against 'in-the-same-day' accidental mess-
ups or deletions, or if your mac hard drive decides to blow up at
the end of the day, you just lost a days work.

If you are only concerned about one nightly backup, and don't care
about Time Machine's features, I suggest you disable it altogether
and use an old-skool backup solution.
