Pricepoint is how Air ruins the Pro
The biggest way that the Air affects the Macbook Pro (and the entire portable lineup) is it's pricepoint.

The Pro has been overpriced for way too long and the Air just makes things worse. You are paying a pro price of $2000-3000 for what exactly? A dedicated late 2006 dedicated CPU?

The way it's supposed to be is this:

$1600 - 3000 High End Macbook Pro
$1000 - 1300 Midrange Macbook
$800 - 1000 Low End Macbook Lite (low cpu and features/tons of add-ons)

But with the Air charging more for unnecessary technology then it screws up everything because the low end machine now took over the high-end pricerange. And since Apple doesn't allow overlapping pricepoints then the Pro is forever going to be out of reach for the average consumer (and the Mac user who wants a dedicated vid card)
