Advise: Consider cancelling the order
It sounds to me like you didn't really think through whether or not the MacBook Air would actually fit your needs. In fact, it strikes me that this is exactly the type of problem that is apt to arise from making an impulse purchase of a high-end technology product 30-seconds after it is announced. Maybe you should stop and re-consider whether this is really the device for you or if you would be happier with any of the numerous other ultraportable laptops out there that use higher-capacity 2.5" drives.

I suppose an alternative might be to take a look at whether you can move your less-essential data off to an external USB drive. Of course, keep in mind that there is only 1 USB port on the Air, so you would either have to haul around a USB hub or you would not be able to use both the external drive and any other peripheral (such as a 3G modem) at the same time.
