Between CES and other big tradeshows that are going on in January, there is no way
that Macworld will ever set foot in Vegas. SF is closer to Apple, and I think that the
city makes deals with IDG and Apple to promote their shows and products. That's
why you see Jobs using the Moscone convention center to do product
announcements sometimes.
Most people I know who work in different industries that have tradeshows in
Vegas, hate it, and hate Vegas. Most people I know who ever went or worked a
Macworld loved it. I think part of the charm of Macworld is the city it's hosted in.
