Wither? Hardly.
This article is sounding a little like FUD. Yes, I agree that Aperture should have the same functionality (and then some) as iPhoto, but I don't think that photographers using Aperture using going to drop it in favor of some. Aperture withering because iPhoto can do one thing "better"? Don't think so.

I'd give Apple some time to develop some very cool Web features for Aperture 2.0. But don't make it sound like Aperture's going away because it can't do the fancy .Mac-only galleries that iPhoto can. Although those are nice, with Aperture they should focus on platform-agnostic outputs like their competitor Adobe. Their Flash gallery is a worthy competitor to the iPhoto outputs, and they don't require me to pay for a crippled .Mac account.
