Truth

If Sun get "owned" by IBM than they brought it on
themselves. They let SPARC performance lag for years
and did not listen to their customers. If they had
embraced open source and x86 earlier (circa 2000/1)
than they would have turned the tide but there was a
lot of residual dot com boom arrogance there.

The best case scenario for everyone is that Open
Solaris gets GPL'ed, Sun Ray dies, SPARC gets sold off
if IBM can't incorporate some of the good technology
features into POWER, perhaps with Sun's networking
technology IBM will make a return to the Network
arena, MySQL has a better fate than Informix....
Geez I could go on all day here but perhaps this is
all a rumour.

There is no denying that while I am a Solaris fan
(believe it or not) I will get great satisfaction
knowing Rudy de Haas and his Sun world imploding might
let reality shine through this blog once in a while.
