Denying global warming, intelligent design and 911 conspiracy theories
What do denying global warming, intelligent design and 911 conspiracy theories have in common? Well here are few examples:

1. Belief that there is some kind of establishment that suppresses the truth.
2. Various experts - that are usually not the experts in the field in question - who self righteously uncover the scam, pointing out "obvious" flaws with the accepted story that nobody noticed until now.
3. Plausible arguments as to why the established theory is not true. These arguments may have a logical fallacy in them (explain everything or you are wrong and I am right), or may come from the fact that theory in question is much more complex and esoteric than the knowledge that lay persons have. Additionally, when it comes to global warming, we are still talking about unsettled science with still many questions that are still unanswered. This makes it easy for opponents to poke holes and raise questions.
