Poor programming and poor programmers.
Software producers have convinced everyone it is the nature of software to have security problems. Why has the world bought that scenario?

I still say that software companies need to be held financially accountable for the damages their software causes its users. Microsoft should have to reimburse it users for every penny they pay that is related to security issues.

Every other industry must pay for liability. The software industry should have to be held accountable as well. I really can't believe that some company hasn't sued MS already. I know MS tries to circumvent the issue with its EULA. But there are laws about merchantability and you simply can't negate these laws with EULA's and/or warnings. It is time that MS was taken to court and sued for the financial damages they are responsible for.
