Mistakes
These people are working with the new dot.net tools, particularly Visual Basic Studio 6.0

Two things here: it's not actually called dot.net, but the leading point is a bit strange. Why not use ".Net" (i.e. quoted).

Secondly, was there anything called Visual Basic Studio 6.0? I think Visual Basic 6.0 was the last non-.Net version, and the Visual Basic.Net (the language) shipped first in Visual Studio.Net.

to rewrite all Windows client software in time to avoid having to first upgrade to Windows/XP to maintain license validity

To suggest all Windows client software has to be we-written for the upgrade to XP is complete rubbish. Maybe you shoud clarify what particular technology choice was previously made that required this re-write?
