Creating a sales infrastructure for Sun

$3.82 = Sun's stock price @ time of writing

I won't argue that sun has some great technologies but it truly has no idea how to integrate or market them. IBM & HP have Server and services strategies that Sun has never had,

Most of Sun's answers to falling market share are about bringing out duplicate products that don't compete well like glassfish. This represents a lot of wasted effort. Sun had a winning formula in the 90's that worked very well but the truth is that a lot of that success was circumstantial. IBM & HP are still strong cos they have a hard/software offerings and services that work and customers want. They are much more than a we sell SPARC one trick pony company and the current facts for about 7 years running are hard to argue with.

Sun has flip flopped time and again and every move they make rattles confidence and shakes off more customers that Red Hat snap up. To say that Sun has great products that customers would buy if they knew how good they were or that Sun just does not care to tell/market them in the right way is just denial of the fact that Sun has been proven to lack versatility.
Although Sun all of a sudden being all about open source is a good way to fake versatility.

Like Novell they are losing the market they created and it's all self inflicted. (Almost?) Too late to steer this boat 180 degrees around now.
