Also the fact that M$ "stole" the BSD UNIX TCP/IP stack and changed the default packet size for pings - so the "Ping of Death" from a PC could bring down an UNIX box. I also heard stories of how M$ changed the networking code so that connections from UNIX (specifically Sun?) would run at 1/4 speed.
