Generalizations
When it comes to marketing there are lots of strange things:

1. Better may sell but it may not make profits.
2. "Better" is in the eye of the beholder
3. Better but sacrifices business plan.

At the core I think sometimes companies get so involved with being "better" that they neglect the fact that they must make a profit.

You can make a "better" product but if you can't make money at it you eventually tank financially.
