I can't, maybe i'm biased too. But when you hear senior IT-ers go on about helpdesks the size of 2 to 3 headstrong, instead of the at least 10 to 25 to 100 you have nowadays with the Windows environments.

The problem with Wintel desktops is.. People know it.. People (ab)use it at home. People will (ab)use it in the office.

Give them a work environment in which they know nothing, in which they can only do what they are supposed to do and for which they will need some small amount of training.

This would result in a much smaller helpdesk, more productivity in general (you don't need stylesheets for internal memo's), TCO and ROI would be much better. But this is way too utopian.

It would mean business managers would have common sense, but we all know that's science fiction.
