Some of my reasons:
a. The culture of rejecting proprietary desktop apps/ The fact that not a lot get made anyway for Linux - OpenOffice.org/GIMP are really starting to lag behind Office/Photoshop in terms of features and intuitiveness.

b. It's hard to install programs(if you don't have a broadband connection)

c. No games - how's a teen/kid user supposed to pass time on his Linux box anyway??

d. The everything-has-to-be-FOSS mentality is really irritating!! especially on their forums.
