CTRL + [insert_key_here] is your friend.

WYSIWYG editors are not perfect for every task, but they suffice for the majority of menial tasks (like posting to blogs).

Vi / SED are great for automated / repetitive tasks, but again they are different tools for different tasks.

Maybe you need to drag yourself into the present and stop reminiscing about the past 'glory' days of Unix...
