Time to prepare tenders

The talk of "messages" leads one to believe that the CIO of the LSE will shortly be replaced by someone who has a clue about data management issues.

So yes, a Sun or IBM Unix Servers (not more than 2 production ones needed) running Oracle, DB2 or Sybase with replication should do the trick and dump this .NET nonsense and the 120 Proliants.

In the meantime I see another reason why European banks want to set up their own European wide share trading network and bypass the traditional exchanges and their excessive costs.
