If you want consistent and 'easy to use' then stick to one distribution.
The Linux community has diverse interests. Specific distributions
and vendors try to make things easy for those who don't specialize
in running operating systems. I know you just said the same thing,
I just don't like the way you said it. You're invested (time and effort)
in Solaris and I'm invested in the Mac. But, it's all *nix.
