But, I wanted to point out that Win4Lin is absolutely not based on WINE.
Win4Lin runs a copy of Windows as a Linux process and applications are then
run in this environment. Win4Lin resides in and writes to the Linux file
system. The major difference in this approach is that organizations can run
their legacy applications with 100% fidelity without the need to port or
re-write the applications. WINE is effectively a porting kit and each
application requires porting, testing and maintenance.
