In a large corporation like company "F", the one-throat to choke paradigm is paramount. Even if the Java desktop stuff is half-baked, it makes sense to contract with Sun to do everything (and use everything). Heck, we use half-baked (or less) stuff from IBM today - so this is not a stretch. I'm still waiting for the "looking glass" automated backgrounds - VERY cool!
