Man, you should see me blushing right now. I never thought I'd be such the focus of anything.

Like you, I have my agreements and disagreements with those you mentioned (and others), but in most cases I enjoy reading and responding to them when I feel I have something significant to add (which is why I'm such an infrequent contributor). I always try to craft my message, usually (I feel) unsuccessfully; I usually feel that I haven't succeeded as well as some others. There are some very eloquent regulars here, who can put things in a way I wish I could.

I must admit, I've had my doubts about blogs (particularly in the aspects mentioned in the quote), but that doesn't mean I think they are worthless. On the contrary, they can be a powerful force for we the "uncouth" people, so long as people take them in context and don't treat them as gospel. I promise I'll keep reading, even those I disagree with, and try to add something constructive.
