Property Rights...
I think the Government is just ignoring the idea of property and sticking thier nose where is doesn't always belong.

Take Goldman Sachs - they made a mint this year because the market is very volitile and they are GOOD at their jobs (which is reading market swings and buying and selling accordingly). Their people did a great job, they're giving huge bonuses to reward and KEEP those good workers..

HOW DARE THEY! The gov't says it's no appropriate to give huge bonuses when people are suffering. Why not? Some people are doing a good job, they should be rewarded. People should see that the smart and wise get ahead in grand style. It will make people want to emulate them.

I think the real problem is that gov't doesn't want people to see that if you do well and you're smart - you can get ahead without them. Also - I think their scared people will start saying, "Why not put THOSE guys in charge... they seem to know how to make money and make people wealthy."

Oh, and only people the gov't likes and can control should do really well.

Gov't should keep it's fingers out of certain pots. Tinkering with Supply and Demand always causes problems.

My rambling 2 cents....
