Obviously, even in a case like this, whatever punishment is prescribed for "cyber-bullying" isn't going to be nearly as severe as one for murder - one that a lot of people thinking with their emotions instead of their brains would push for.

In the end, the mother was guilty of being childish and mean (arguably, no more mean than teenagers her daughter's age are everyday), but she isn't the sole cause of the young girl's suicide, only a very small but public straw that broke the girl's back.
