U.S. Copyright is broken
US Copyright is irreparably broken. What was once an author's reasonable protection of a couple of decades has turned into a centuries-long stranglehold on "works for hire". The public domain has withered and died, and companies have seized the creative works of the people who actual created them. The only beneficiaries to copyright law are the media robber barons and the Digital Rights Mafia.

In my opinion, this experiment (and it was an experiment -- "copyright" is a relatively new concept, historically speaking) has failed and needs to end.
