He's right
And copyright law is in desperate need of fixing, but it won't happen until large numbers of people start caring about the issue. Maybe if laws are enforced and sites like Pirate Bay start disappearing, those unhappy about it will start writing their Congresspeople and MPs and that can only be a good thing, as the influence of lobbyists is inversely proportional to the degree of public knowledge and concern about the particular issue.

Yet another reason why it's important for even bad laws to be enforced (otherwise, they don't get repealed).
