Access to the law should be free
But in a country where lawyers go for the person
with the 'biggest bucks' to represent and the
monetary scale falls HEAVILY on the side of
government when they are prosecuting (or
persecuting) someone...... it's never going to
be.

Not to say that law needs to be a place where
everything is free. Heavens no! But there does
need to be a limit on the amount of money that
prosecutors can spend on evidence so that they do
not overwhelm a innocent but poor person. The
converse also needs to be true: there needs to be
a limit on how much a RICH person can spend on
their defense, unless there is a pressing need
for them to spend massive amounts of money and a
justification.
