For stop signs to be posted at intersections after the automobile came into use? Red lights? Speed limits? Look both ways before you cross?

I am mystified at the apparent lack of any common sense about the digital reality that's been filling every nook and cranny of our existence for the last thirty years. Password? Who needs that. FAIL! Ok, how 'bout "computer" FAIL! USB ports? Nobody here uses USB sticks here. FAIL!

I am beginning to seriously consider a National Digital Driver's License.

As for the so called "Smart Grid", I think we should revert to a dumb grid. You know, when Lt. Viktor Belenko landed his Mig-25 (Foxbat) in Japan on September 6, 1976, the CIA examiners who took it apart had a good laugh at some of the technology the Soviets used. There were vacuum tubes in the electronics! Ha Ha Ha. It turns out the laugh was on us. They used vacuum tubes not because they didn't know how to use transistors. They used the old technology because it was much more resistant to EMP (elctromagnetic pulse).

I think we are getting a fair warning here. It will soon be easier to count the things not connect to the grid. I would feel safer with a simple circuit breaker.
