and for the record, Ron Paul joined the Republican party so he could at least get nominated to run for President. No third party has ever had a chance in a system dominated by 2 parties. You should know better than to assume.
Do a little research on the matter. Ron Paul is a Libertarian that ran as a Republican. It was the only reason he made it as far as he did. One other fact is look back and you will see that not one major contender would debate Ron Paul. They wouldn't debate him because they knew he would NOT be drawn into the infantile sniping that ensued between McCain and Obama. They KNEW they would lose the debates because Ron Paul has solutions and would stick to the facts.
The people that don't have a grasp on reality are the ones that watch the 20 second sound bites on the news and then decide an entire nations fate.
As for failed policy's... better go back in history and learn. Not too far back either, but many of the failed policies are actually from Democrats... starting back in 1977 with the Community Reinvestment Act which was made more prominent and powerful by the Clinton administration (the same chuckleheads heading back into power...).
This paved the way for the bad loans and unsecured debts that have all but obliterated our financial sector.
Congressional Democrats along with ACORN, put the squeeze on banks as well as other financial institutions... the squeeze? Force them to issue sub-prime loans to high risk homebuyers. This sets the bubble in motion for the housing collapse.
Once that is in motion these high risk loans are purchase by Uncle Sam via Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
In 2005 the Republicans attempt to pass caps and enforce more oversight on Fannie and Freddie, but are blocked in the Senate by Senator Reid.... in 2006 McCain predicts financial meltdown if action is not take immediately...
In the last 25 years there has been no significant deregulation so that is not the source of the problem and the solution is not more regulation either.
The bottom line is it's time for the Libertarians to come in and clean house. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are capable and this has been proven the last 30 years.
So you get what you wish for and that will be a Socialist nation where hard work doesn't pay off and the dream of building a better life is only that a dream. Sorry but I was raised in a nation that covets freedom and is about opportunity and if you make it then you get your just rewards, if you fail that's on you as well.
Maybe you want to have mommy hold your hand and uncle sammy wipe your arse, but I don't. I worked damn hard to get where I am and I did it on my own. I don't see how you or anyone else can justify punishing me or others just because we worked hard to attain a level of income and a quality of life we enjoy.
If you are not willing to put the effort into improving your own life then that's on you, don't come asking me to give my hard earned dollars to support your lazy arse. Earn it.
