Comcast vs FiOS

I can't stand Comcast - service is the pits, goes out a few days each month, yet I'm billed for the whole month. Every six months I have to fight to have them reverse the charges for renting a modem when I actually own it. They ask for the receipt to prove it's mine when I've had the same modem since I started service with them 6 years ago.

I'm eagerly anticipating Verizon's fiber optic network reaching my area as I have received much better service from verizon (at least as a phone company). Does anyone have experience with their ISP services they can share?
