KISS principle
Where I vote, you get the best of both worlds - electronic voting and a paper ballot.

The paper ballots are easy to read and use - they have the little circles you fill in like any of the gazillion multiple choice tests we've all taken our whole lives.

Then you take the paper ballot to a machine where it's "read." Thus, you get electronic tabulation - and the the paper ballot remains in the reader for auditing purposes.

Now how hard is that?? It's simple, it's easy to use, and it's auditable. I don't get it. Why all the fuss with these stupid computerized machines when an optical reader and paper ballot solve everything??
