Resposibility?
you said it yourself, Nobody takes responsibility for their own actions anymore. Like the Little Girl who hung herself?
All of the responsibility lies on the head Drew?

What happened to freedom of speech?

The comment in question wasn't "Go Kill Yourself."

It was "The world would be a better place without you."

That speech was interpreted as... "Gee I guess I'll Kill Myself now."

If that's the case, then to hell with freedom of speech.
or maybe, freedom of speech to young one's.

Your comment on "a mere child" amuses me. This mere child obviously had the cognitive capacity to setup a myspace and even use the message board.

As a father of a 5 year old, MySpace is BLOCKED. It's not the place for a little girl to be. Period.

Funny, Still, after all the talk of Freedom of speech and Net Neutrality. "big brother" wants to step in and say.
"alright Freedom of speech to everyone, unless it could lead a little girl to kill herself."

Just to say what everyone (at least those with some sort of functioning logic.) If a few keystrokes can coax you into killing yourself, then, you probably weren't on the mentally stable side of the table anyway.

Get over it. The parents need to take responsibility for their daughters actions.

Furthermore, It clearly states on the MySpace TOS, and I quote, "By using the MySpace Services, you represent and warrant that (a) all registration information you submit is truthful and accurate; (b) you will maintain the accuracy of such information; (c) you are 14 years of age or older; and (d) your use of the MySpace Services does not violate any applicable law or regulation. Your profile may be deleted and your Membership may be terminated without warning, if we believe that you are under 14 years of age."

Pay special notice to (c).

Imagine a world where parents actually took control over what their kids are doing online. None of this would ever happen. Hold the parents responsible.

They allowed their daughter to access content not intended for her age.

How do have a 13 year old and not know that she is depressed enough to Kill herself?

Oh yeah, this might have worked too, "hey honey, Why are you taking 20 feet of rope to your bedroom?"

Phew..
