She set up an account under a false name. Nobody told her she couldn't -- and in fact, most web sites encourage registrants not to use their real identities so I don't get what they mean by "accessing protected computers without authorization".

If by "conspiracy", if they mean that she conspired with her own daughter to destroy this girl's life, she certainly did that but she did a great deal more than simply abuse this child -- she verbally assaulted her.

The law needs to catch up with the technology in order to address this as an assault & battery -- or worse. It is certainly a case worthy of a 'wrongful death' suit but there needs to be some criminal punishment for an action using a computer to cause a death -- just as there is for using your car or your fists.
