Amen William Patry!: It's nice to see an intelligent person speak up in recognition that the RIAA is trying to circumvent long-established laws and practices in their insane persecution and prosecution of thousands of their once-loyal customers.

When a private organization can extort fines from many thousands of innocent people through threats of legal actions and get away with it, it shows just how corrupt our government has become. The passage of the DMCA, and soon the PRO IP Act, demonstrates how much control special-interest groups have gained over our lawmakers and our country.

Seeing our individual freedoms steadily disappear thanks to the efforts of a puppet government under the control of special interests makes me wonder when other countries are going to start protesting the rampant violations of civil rights in our own country.

It is high time people realized that the RIAA and MPAA are organizations that are power-crazed and out of control.

Imagine if Walmart decided to search all of their 200 million customers in order to find 40,000 who MAY have stolen something that cost Walmart 50 cents to make. Imagine that they harrassed each of those 40,000 customers until they paid $5,000 each despite the fact that 8,000 of those 40,000 were actually innocent.
