While I do not want to see XP on the XO, I have to say I do respect Microsoft for trying to provide formal end-user support. No matter if children can view the source code, there will need to be real, live, trained technical support staff present to help out with the more complex aspects of computing.

Microsoft and Intel, for all their downsides, know this and can provide it. Let's hope OLPC realizes its weakness and does the same.
