Hm...
Would be useful to know the reason for the reported phenomenon. Is it the case that most of these candidates only want to field questions from audiences guaranteed to be friendly? If so, that calls into question their fitness for leadership. After all, most voters aren't dittoheads, though you wouldn't know it from listening to most political talk shows.
