Mistakes?
I really get tired of this. The FBI, the NSA, the Bush administration, et al, get caught out again, violating the law, abusing their authority, trashing the Constitution. As with the events leading up to the 911 attacks, I think it says a lot when the best thing they can come up with by way of an explanation is to claim that they made "mistakes". It says a lot about what is likely to be really be going on behind the scenes when they try to flaunt their incompetence as a mitigating factor. Makes me wonder just how much worse it really is.

These people aren't ACTUALLY stupid...it's just better for them if people think they're doofus rather than some damned neo-gestapo.
