Nonsense. This is simply a high-tech version of what Reagan did when the pundits in both parties sought to "control the message" - he went to the public, who generally supported him to the hilt.

Again, we're seeing a Republican president sandbagged by probably bogus poll results and news analysis who is astute enough to go back to his power base - the folks who elected him in the first place.

Of course, blogger involvement may backfire on the Washington pundit class who can be blamed for some of the Bush Administration's bowb-ups in the first place, but scraping off a few more Safavians isn't the worst thing that the White House could do, after all. What backfire?
