Amen, brother!
While you are at it, try and run your F500 without the IT staff. Better yet, take a look at the model set in motion by the monkey-assed MBAs where business decisions are based on quarterly earnings. Never mind that if we do things the right way, it will save the company money and have a much greater ROI.

Never mind that companies like yours are charging triple digit rates and milking our IT budgets dry because you can speak "MBA-lingo" to our CIO (which no longer requires the "I"). You come in, spew some new fancy methodology and spout several new three-letter acronyms -- and the deal is done. Soon, an army of PwC/IBM/Accenture/Bearing Point consultants are all over like roaches. Again, milking us dry.

When the CFO and CEO realize how great the IT spending is, they start to ask questions. Whom do they turn to? You...again. This time, lets cut the cost of IT development by using off-shore resources. Never mind that IT projects now take 3x as long. Because we have to please the shareholders with a good quarterly earnings report, projects can take as long as they want (the longer the better). Never mind that the project will never have a positive ROI and the COO is astronomical.

Yes, it is no wonder IT is the ugly step child of the business environment. American business has places too much emphasis on MBAs thinking they know technology and placing too much emphasis on the stock market/quarterly earning.
