Not a good deal---for anyone but Comcast
I live in any area where Comcast is basically the exclusive cable serivce provider. I use their HDTV service and their cable modem service. Comcast knows how to do one thing well, and it is not provide good quality service. They increase their prices in a heartbeat. They just announced a 6%+ increase starting next month. I cannot imagine what they could do with Disney/ABC and ESPN.

Comcast owns a number of cable channels in addition to the "service" they provide. E!, the Golf Channel, Speedvision, The Outdoor Channel, and you cannot forget the G4 channel. None are particularly good or worthwhile. E! specializes in Janet Jackson type exposure. I can see it now Minnie Mouse exposing something.

From a business perspective assuming the regulators would approve the deal, and I have my doubts. (Remember Disney owns ABC network and a number of broadcast stations.) The financials do not work for Comcast. It is a stock only offer. For the deal to work Comcast would have to offer the equal to $34-$35 in their stock. At the present price of Comcast, the Disney stockholders would control the company. since the proposed buyout of Disney Comcast stock has rapidly declined and Disney has risen.

I do not see where there would be any ultimate benefit to the consumer. Comcast would milk Disney and basically destroy it.
