Copyright and patent
Your discussion of the IP to be protected mentions copyright but not patents. For example:

Knowledge products (the stuff normally covered by copyright) is the category of goods that relies so heavily on copyright.

Because software can be protected effectively only by patents, I suggest mentioning them specifically in this context.
