Yeah, I was wondering...
...if all that garbage we produce as humans might end up being one heck of a great source for raw materials at some point in the future. We have piles of the stuff built over a century, and it contains lots of stuff which would serve as great grist for nano-reassembly.

Owners of garbage dumps go from bottom-feeders to the equivalent of oil companies practically overnight.

Of course, this is all long-term speculation...but it makes a certain amount of sense, given theoretical trends in nanotechnology.
