I really enjoyed your take on this. I think for the most part, we are all scratching our heads in puzzled wonder.

This is 3 now and what's left? Ubuntu? Fedora? There are tons of little distro's who might take a deal. In the end there has to be a point to all of this over and above all the great opportunity for MS and Open source.

The question is, what will happen to the distro's who don't sign? Nothing? That would be fine. Is MS just going to offer this deal to those that "will", and be happy with that?

MS has made the statement about IP violations. You have to wonder. That Aircraft Carrier looks VERY small from the seat of a fighter jet. On the other hand, It seems that these deals are more of getting used to the adjustment of co-operation. Where there wasn't before. Steady as she goes?
