Good comment.
There's often an opposite way to express the same point.

As an example, take the statement, "Microsoft does X better than any other company or organization. It's a uniquely effective solution." It can become, "Microsoft furthers lock-in with their proprietary solution."

Microsoft doesn't often find solutions to problems no one ever thought about previously. If the problem hasn't been identified by this time, there's a good chance that the potential market isn't large enough to be worth the company's interest.

But Microsoft does find new solutions in the context of the capabilities of its own software. And makes those enhanced capabilities available to developers.

That's good for the ecosystem.
But it's bad for other companies because they do not have access to the panoply of Microsoft capabilities, not being Microsoft.

So, the people who object to unique advantages are arguing that Microsoft is prventing competion, because no other outfit could possibly match them precisely, and the developers will have galloped away before a potential competitor can even compete.

Phrased that way, the complaint is really that Microsoft is too good for competition to arise.

The opposed points of view cannot be compromised.

But one can point out that in addition to the Microsoft-only capabilities, Microsoft is also making an effort to cooperate/interoperate with others' software.

Which can be rephrased as, Microsoft wants to assure that users of any other product can and so will stay in the Microsoft fold...

You can't please 'em so long as Microsoft wins.
