Question
Okay John, ONE line of that whole piece confuses me. I liked the ski/snowboard analogy, understand that once you're used to it, the new GUI is "a good thing", and all that ... but where on EARTH did the "complex command line" comment come from??

I haven't used a word processor since WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS that used any sort of command line interface. Maybe it's an Office/Word thing? I don't know. I've never used Word for more than opening a file someone sent me up until OOo 2.0 was installed on all my computers. Word Perfect was always the superior word processing app, and technically still is. Whether Office is "de facto" or not. De facto doesn't mean better, just means more OEM and government installations. At any rate, I haven't used a word processor with a CLI in over a decade.

Was it just some slip of the fingers, or what? It's just entirely out of place in that post.
