Depends on the what the password is for
Take this site. It's not the end of the world if I lose my password to a schmuck. They will post under my user name and that's a pain but hardly anything to panic over.

Now I have a log in for tax info. They won't send you a email with your password in it. You have to wait 2 weeks for them to mail you a new cryptic 10+ character password.

Now place like Amazon kind of scare me because they do email you in clear text and they have credit card info on a person.
