Do you carry extra memory cards around?

Most people don't carry extra memory cards around with them. An expansion slot is definitely nice to have, but in general, most people will keep it filled with 1 card, not carry around 2-3 extra cards so they can swap them out as they fill up. Those things are way too easy to lose in your pocket.

The same argument applies for batteries. I agree that if you are a road warrior who is always on the phone, you probably keep an extra cell phone battery in your laptop bag. But the vast majority of consumers don't lug an extra battery around with them to swap it out when it dies. They just live with the capacity they have, and get a phone with better life if their current phone doesn't meet their needs.

The iPhone was designed with the consumer in mind, not the business traveler.
