It's not technically wrong to show an old benchmark, it's simply irrelevant to modern workloads so it's a sleazy practice.

As for Intel, they used the most up to date and best scores available on SPEC.org for AMD taking advantage of the fact that AMD partners aren't big enough to get just as many benchmarks published. Sleazy? Yes.

It's always wise for analysts and media need to vet numbers from any vendor for not only technical accuracy but fairness and relevancy.
