- I have one of those Laptop Desks myself; it looks like your picture. I have found, though, that depending on how hot your laptop runs, the heat will radiate through the plastic material the Laptop Desk is made of, and will eventually make it uncomforatable to use. The best results are obtained when you set it up like a wedge. However, there just isn't any insultating value to it. I now use one with a foam filling, that insultes better.
